About Devon and Nita

My name is Devon and I'm a North Carolina (A9258) and South Carolina (8695) Certified  Residential Real Estate Appraiser, valuing  homes in the Greater Charlotte market areas. After growing up in Charlotte, graduating from Garinger High School, I started my real estate appraisal career. Since 1980 I have performed over 12,000 residential real estate appraisals. I work full-time as an independent fee appraiser for banks, attorneys, lenders, investors and homeowners. I have extensive experience in appraising vacant land and residential properties, two to four-family properties, and more complicated properties such as complex and luxury homes, as a Certified Luxury Appraiser, as well as a NAR GREEN Appraiser. 

Prior to becoming Certified  I had worked for my family's real estate brokerage and appraisal firm since 1979, measuring homes with a tape measure and taking pics with a Polaroid. My background has always been in real estate in one way or another. Growing up in a family of brokers, builders and appraisers, I found helping families to be rewarding at a very young age. I received my first real estate license over 40 years ago and have helped thousands of individuals and families reach their dreams. In addition, my love for community has inspired a passion for what I do.

Hi, my name is Nita and I’ve been in the service industry as an entrepreneur and small business owner for my whole life. For the past few years, I've assisted Devon in the appraisal business as well as being a Certified Home Measurement Specialist. I am detail oriented with a special emphasis on carefully watching over every step of our processes. Along with Devon, I have measured hundreds of homes, paying special attention to all of the details that you as our client expect. As a legal professional, homeowner, real estate agent, or anyone in need of our services, I will always  provide the kind of professional and personal service you deserve. 

Nita and I are both Certified Home Measurement Specialists with the Institute of Housing Technologies. I have personally measured thousands of homes in every size, age, shape and style; ranch style, multi story, log, manufactured, adobe, modern, Spanish, mountain, lake, Victorian, even octagons, dome and berm homes. This is an international designation and certifies that Nita and I each have specialized training in accurately measuring homes using the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) standards for home measurement. These measurement standards are mandatory by FNMA, not optional. The largest home I have measured and appraised is 40,000 sf with over 25,000 sf above grade. The home has an entire bowling alley, movie theater, hair salon and chapel...and that's in the basement. The smallest is a tiny home, about 300 sf.
